Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One is kind, all by Itself; whatever the One does, happens.
The One is in everything, all through, and no one else is as great as the One.
Whatever pleases the One comes to be; whatever the One does is done.
No one has ever found the worth of the One. The One has no end.
Nanak says: turn to face the Guru and praise the One, and your body and mind grow cool and calm, like shade at the end of a hot day.
Everything moves in the flow of the One, and praising that boundless One cools the whole self.
Har aapay karay so ho-ay: whatever the One does, happens. This is the hukam, the flow of existence, the way everything moves, like a great river carrying all things along. Bay-ant means without end, past every measuring tape.
Tan man seetal: body and mind grow cool. Think of stepping out of the hot sun into deep shade. That calm is what praise feels like inside.
What cools you down and settles you when everything feels too hot and hurried?
