Meeting the True Guru, the Perfect Lord is found, and the tongue savors His Sublime Essence. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Nanak says: I am in love with the True One, and I cannot live without the One.
When the True Guru is met, the perfect One is found, and the tongue tastes the sweetness of the One.
Once you have tasted the One, you cannot imagine being without it.
Love for the True One grows so strong that you cannot be without it, and meeting the Guru brings you its sweetness.
Tis bin rahan na jaa-ee: I cannot stay without the One. This is longing, the way you miss someone you love when they are far away. Har ras is the sweet taste of the One, and rasan rasaa-ee is the tongue soaking it up, like a ripe strawberry on a summer day. This ache of love is the heart of Raag Kaanraa.
