Shatter the wall of doubt, O my Lord and Master; please grab hold of me, and lift me up towards Yourself. ||1||Pause||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
My Beloved lives in a quiet cave deep inside my own heart — closer than I ever knew.
Sometimes there is a wall of doubt in the way. Please help that wall crumble.
Then reach out, take hold of me, and draw me close to You.
The One you are looking for already lives in the quiet cave of your own heart.
This pauri is the rahau alone. Preetam basat rid meh — the Beloved dwells in the khor, the cave of the heart: the One is not far off but already within, an intimate sounding of Ik Onkar, no separation. What stands in the way is bharam bheet, the wall of doubt, and the prayer is for it to be shattered so the One can geh layho apnee or — take hold and draw the seeker near.
A Question to Sit With
When your mind is quiet, what do you notice that you usually miss?
