In plain words

I am in love with the very love of my Beloved — I love loving You.

My mind is happy-dizzy with it, full of hope, and my eyes shine, wet with feeling for You.

Blessed is the moment — the day, the hour, the very second — when the heavy, stuck shutters over my heart finally swing open and my restless wanting is stilled.

The instant I catch sight of You, I truly come alive.

When the heart's shutters finally open, restless wanting quiets and you feel truly alive.
The deeper layer

Pari-a kee preet pi-aaree — loving the very love of the Beloved, devotion turned back on itself. Magan is the mind pleasantly intoxicated, drunk on love not wine. The vivid image is khoolay kapat — the heavy shutters of the heart swinging open — after which bujh trisnaa, the restless thirst, is quenched. Jeeva-o pekh darsaaree — seeing the One, I live: the glimpse is life itself. Guru Arjan colors Kaydaaraa here with pure longing-into-joy.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that makes you feel fully alive the moment it happens?
