Our Lord and Master takes away the fear of birth and death; following the Guru's Teachings, the Lord God is found. ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Remember the One, O my mind, and rise up bright — the pain-dissolver is near.
The fear of coming and going loosens its grip, and walking the teacher's path, the One is found.
Remembering the One quietly loosens the grip of fear.
Dukh-bhanjan — "the breaker of pain." Guru Ram Das promises that remembrance lifts janam-maran ka bhau, the fear that clings to birth and death; the gentle rendering keeps the comfort and drops the dread. Following gurmat (the Guru's teaching) is the path on which this is found.
