In plain words

O my mind, sing the Name of the One who gives peace.

Join the company of those who love the One, taste that sweetness, and — turned toward the teaching — you come to know the One.

Good company and a sweet Name turn the mind toward peace.
The deeper layer

The rahao sets the shabad's key: sukh-daata, the Giver of peace, tasted in sat sangat (the true company of seekers). Gurmukh means "one whose face is turned toward the Guru/teaching." Sweetness (ras) is a favorite Maalee-Gauraa word — the Name is experienced as flavor, not duty.

A Question to Sit With

Who is the company that helps you become your best self?
