In plain words

It's like a boat for someone who's slipping under.

Like oil for a lamp whose flame is fading. Like cool water poured on a fire. Like warm milk in a hungry baby's mouth.

Real help is whatever exactly meets the need — a boat, oil, water, milk.
The deeper layer

This one shows the Name's help with four everyday pictures.

A boat for someone who is sinking. Oil for a lamp that is about to go out. Water on a fire. Milk for a hungry baby.

Each picture pairs a need with exactly what meets it. Boodat ka-o jaisay bayrhee milat — like a boat reaching someone who is going under. The help fits the need perfectly, like the right key for a lock.

The milk-and-baby picture is especially gentle. It fits the tender feeling of this raag, Maalee Gauraa. This help does not only rescue. It feeds and soothes.

A Question to Sit With

When you needed help, what was the 'boat' that showed up for you?
