ਝੂਠੀ ਜਗ ਹਿਤ ਕੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
jhoothee jag hit kee chaturaa-ee.
False is the cleverness of loving attachment to the world.
ਬਿਲਮ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥
bilam na laagai aavai jaa-ee.
In no time at all, it comes and goes.
ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਚਲਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਉਪਜੈ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਖਪਾਇਆ ॥੭॥
naam visaar chaleh abhimaanee upjai binas khapaa-i-aa. ||7||
Forgetting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the proud egotistical people depart; in creation and destruction they are wasted away. ||7||

Being clever about grabbing more of the world is a false kind of smart.
In no time at all it comes and then it is gone.
When the heart forgets the Name and puffs itself up, it drifts and thins out. So it is far better to remember.
Grabbing-cleverness fades fast; remembering the One is what lasts.
Chaturaa-ee (cleverness) aimed only at getting is called false because it fades so fast. Remembering the Naam is what lasts, so remembering is the better road.
