How can the faithless cynics attain enlightened awareness of the Shabad?
sabad surat bin aa-ee-ai jaa-ee-ai.
Without awareness of the Shabad, they come and go in reincarnation.
naanak gurmukh mukat paraa-in har poorai bhaag milaa-i-aa. ||10||
O Nanak, the Gurmukh obtains the support of liberation; by perfect destiny, he meets the Lord. ||10||

How can a heart turned away catch the awake understanding of the Word?
Without that awareness, it keeps wandering restlessly.
Nanak says: turned toward the Guru, a person finds the support that sets them free; by perfect timing, they meet the One.
A heart turned back toward the One finds its footing again.
The saakat is the heart turned away from the One, a matter of direction: a heart facing the wrong way cannot catch the light. Turned back toward the Guru, and by grace's own timing, it meets the One.
