In plain words

Serve the Guru, the ocean too deep to measure,

and you will gather the profit, the wealth, the jewel of the Name.

The dust of what pulled you off course is washed away as you bathe in the pool of sweet nectar. In the Guru's pool, contentment is found.

A dip in the Guru's pool washes off what weighed you down.
The deeper layer

Serve the Guru, deep as the ocean, and bathe in the Guru's pool of nectar.

Satgur samund athaahaa: the true Guru is an ocean too deep to measure. From that ocean you gain naam ratan, the jewel of the Name. It is a profit that never runs out.

Bikhi-aa mal jaa-ay: the dirt of wrong ways washes off. Amrit sar naavhu: bathe in the pool of amrit, sweet nectar. Think of coming home muddy after a game and stepping into a warm shower. You come out clean and calm.

That calm has a name: santokh, contentment. It is the feeling of having enough.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel washed clean and content inside?
