Verse 15 of 16

The Sangat That Was Written for You

jo Dhur likhi-aa so karam kamaa-i-aa.
He acts according to his pre-ordained destiny.
ko-ay na maytai Dhur furmaa-i-aa.
No one can erase the Command of the Primal Lord.
satsangat meh tin hee vaasaa jin ka-o Dhur likh paa-ee hay. ||15||
They alone dwell in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, who have such pre-ordained destiny. ||15||

In plain words

Each life unfolds along a path set long before.

What the One has written, no one can rub out.

And those who come to live in the Sangat were quietly meant to be there all along.

The Sangat that shapes you may have been meant for you.
The deeper layer

What the One has written, no one rubs out, and a place in the Sangat is part of that writing. This is gentle trust: the people who shape us for the better may have been meant for us all along.

Satsangat is the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One.

A Question to Sit With

Who are the people whose company makes you a better person?
