ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤੈ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਾਈ ॥
aapay kartai kaar karaa-ee.
The Creator Himself has created the creation.
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
aapay gurmukh day-ay bujhaa-ee.
He blesses the Gurmukh with understanding.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੫॥
naanak naam ratay man nirmal naamay naam nivaasee hay. ||16||5||
O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam - their minds become immaculate; they dwell in the Naam, and only the Naam. ||16||5||

The One made all of this.
And to the one who turns to the Guru, it gives understanding.
Nanak says, those tuned to the Naam grow clear and bright inside, living in the Naam, and only the Naam.
Tuned to the Name, the mind grows clear and bright.
Nirmal man is the clear and bright mind. Tuned to the Name, a person becomes luminous inside.
