Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 110
Verse 15 of 16

The Overflowing Treasure

jaa too deh sadaa sukh paa-ay.
If You so bless me, then I shall find lasting peace.
saachai sabday saach kamaa-ay.
Through the True Word of the Shabad, I live the Truth.
andar saachaa man tan saachaa bhagat bharay bhandaaree hay. ||15||
The True Lord is within me, and my mind and body have become True. I am blessed with the overflowing treasure of devotional worship. ||15||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

When You give, a lasting peace fills me.

Through the Word I get to live what is real.

The One is within me now — my mind, my body, all of it made true, my hands full of the treasure of love.

Peace is something received, not earned.
The deeper layer

Bhagat bharay bhandaaree — the storehouses of devotion overflow. Peace here is a gift received (jaa too deh, when You give), not a prize earned. The whole person — man tan, mind and body — becomes saachaa, true.

A Question to Sit With

When has a good feeling arrived as a surprise gift rather than a reward?
