ਕੋਟ ਗਹੀ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
kot gahee kay paap nivaaray.
The Lord frees up the body-fortress, which was seized by sins,
ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਖੈ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
sadaa har jee-o raakhai ur Dhaaray.
when one keeps the Dear Lord enshrined forever in the heart.
ਜੋ ਇਛੇ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਜੀਠੈ ਰਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
jo ichhay so-ee fal paa-ay ji-o rang majeethai raataa hay. ||9||
The fruits of his desires are obtained, and he is dyed in the permanent color of the Lord's Love. ||9||

When the heart holds the One, the whole inner house is set free from what once weighed it down.
What the heart longs for begins to come.
And you take on a color that never washes out — the deep color of love.
Love is a color that never washes out.
Rang majeethai — the color of madder, the fastest natural dye, which never fades. Contrast the cheap dye of passing pleasures that washes off. The body-fortress, once gahee (seized) by burdens, is freed when the One is ur dhaaray, held in the heart.
