gur parsaadee hukam pachhaanai.
By Guru's Grace, one recognizes the Lord's Hukam.
Dhaavat raakhai ikat ghar aanai.
The wandering mind is restrained, and brought back to the home of the One Lord.
naamay raataa sadaa bairaagee naam ratan man taahaa hay. ||13||
Imbued with the Naam, one remains forever detached; the jewel of the Naam rests within the mind. ||13||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
By the Guru's grace the heart learns to read the flow of existence.
The restless, roaming mind is gathered back to the home of the One.
Colored by the Name, it grows light and free, the jewel of the Name resting quietly inside.
The restless mind can be gently gathered back home.
Dhaavat raakhai ikat ghar aanai — the running mind is restrained and brought to the one home. Bairaagee, detached, here means light and free. The naam ratan rests within like a settled jewel.
