Verse 14 of 16

At Home in Your Own Depths

sabh jag meh vartai ayko so-ee.
The One Lord is pervasive throughout all the world.
gur parsaadee pargat ho-ee.
By Guru's Grace, He is revealed.
sabad salaaheh say jan nirmal nij ghar vaasaa taahaa hay. ||14||
Those humble beings who praise the Shabad are immaculate; they dwell within the home of their own inner self. ||14||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The one Oneness flows through the whole world.

By the Guru's grace it shines out into view.

Those who praise the Word grow clear and bright, at home in their own quiet depths.

Being at home in your own depths is a kind of clarity.
The deeper layer

Nij ghar vaasaa — dwelling in one's own true home, the inner depths. The One is everywhere (sabh jag meh vartai) yet becomes pargat, visible, by grace. Praising the Word makes a person nirmal, clear, and at home within.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel most at home inside yourself?
