Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 113
Verse 15 of 16

Always in the Sanctuary

sadaa bhagat tayree sarnaa-ee.
The devotees abide forever in Your Sanctuary, Lord.
agam agochar keemat nahee paa-ee.
You are inaccessible and unfathomable; Your value cannot be estimated.
ji-o tuDh bhaaveh ti-o too raakhahi gurmukh naam Dhi-aahaa hay. ||15||
As it pleases Your Will, You keep us; the Gurmukh meditates on the Naam. ||15||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Loving hearts rest always in Your shelter.

You are beyond reach, beyond measure.

However You choose to keep us, we rest in that, and the one turned to the Guru holds the Naam close.

The One beyond reach is also the safest shelter.
The deeper layer

Sadaa bhagat tayree sarnaa-ee — devotees abide forever in the sanctuary. Ji-o tudh bhaaveh ti-o too raakhahi — however You keep us — is mannai, trusting alignment with what is. The unreachable One is also the safest shelter.

A Question to Sit With

Where is a place you always feel welcome?
