ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥
sach sanjam satguroo du-aarai.
Truth and self-control are found through the Door of the True Guru.
ਹਉਮੈ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ॥
ha-umai kroDh sabad nivaarai.
Egotism and anger are silenced through the Shabad.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸੀਲੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
satgur sayv sadaa sukh paa-ee-ai seel santokh sabh taahaa hay. ||5||
Serving the True Guru, lasting peace is found; humility and contentment all come from Him. ||5||

At the True Guru's door, truth and a steady, calm strength are waiting.
There the loud voice of ego and the heat of anger grow quiet, and a lasting peace, humble and content, takes their place.
Truth and calm strength are waiting at the Guru's door.
Truth and self-discipline are gifts of the Guru's door. The Word stills ego and anger, and contentment, santokh, follows.
