Deep with the nucleus of his being is the great disease; he suffers terrible pain, and eventually sinks into the manure. ||10||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Someone can enjoy fine food and fine clothes and still feel a quiet emptiness inside if the heart stays untouched.
When outward comfort is all there is, an ache remains; but that same heart can be filled the moment it turns toward the Word.
Comfort on the outside cannot fill an emptiness on the inside.
Outer plenty can sit beside inner emptiness. Bhaykh karai — the robes are worn, but the Guru's Word is not lived, and a deep ache stays inside. Turning to the Word heals it.
