ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨ ਕੋਟੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
kaa-i-aa kanchan kot apaaraa.
The body is the infinite fortress of gold;
ਜਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
jis vich ravi-aa sabad apaaraa.
it is permeated by the Infinite Word of the Shabad.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਚੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੩॥
gurmukh gaavai sadaa gun saachay mil pareetam sukh paa-idaa. ||3||
The Gurmukh sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord forever; meeting his Beloved, he finds peace. ||3||

Look again, and this same body is a fortress of gold, filled all through with the Word.
Singing the praises of the One, the heart meets its Beloved and rests in peace.
Filled with the Word, the body is a fortress of gold.
The fortress is reimagined as gold once the Shabad fills it, a turn from the previous verse's dust to inner splendor, ending in union and peace.
