The Body Is the Temple

kaa-i-aa har mandar har aap savaaray.
The body is the temple of the Lord; the Lord Himself embellishes it.
tis vich har jee-o vasai muraaray.
The Dear Lord dwells within it.
gur kai sabad vanjan vaapaaree nadree aap milaa-idaa. ||4||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the merchants trade, and in His Grace, the Lord merges them with Himself. ||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Your body is a temple, and the One who lives in it makes it beautiful.

The Beloved is right inside, and those who trade in the Word, giving their time to it, are gathered by grace into the One.

Your body is a temple, and the Beloved already lives inside it.
The deeper layer

The body as the Lord's temple is a recurring Maaroo theme. Grace completes the trade of devotion, drawing the devotee into the One.

A Question to Sit With

If your body is a temple, how would you like to treat it?
