In plain words

The One brings the seeking heart to the True Guru.

There the true Word makes a person brave, a hero on the inside.

Bringing them close, the One gives them honor and turns their thoughts toward the True One.

The bravest hero is the one who learns to master their own mind.
The deeper layer

The One brings a person to the True Guru, and the true Word makes that person brave.

Aapay satgur maylay pooraa: the Perfect One brings us to the true Guru. Sachai sabad mahaabal sooraa: through the true Word, a person becomes a mighty sooraa, a hero.

Maaroo is the raag of courage, once sung before battle. Here the hero fights inside. The real battle is with one's own mind: its anger, pride and fear. Think of the courage it takes to say sorry first after a fight with a brother or sister. That is hero work.

Then the One gives vadi-aa-ee, honor, and turns the person's thoughts toward the True One.

A Question to Sit With

What is the hardest thing about yourself to be brave with?
