The Fortress That Is Your Body

kaa-i-aa kot at apaaraa.
Utterly incomparable is the fortress of the body.
tis vich bahi parabh karay veechaaraa.
Within it, God sits in contemplation.
sachaa ni-aa-o sacho vaapaaraa nihchal vaasaa paa-idaa. ||14||
He administers true justice, and trades in Truth; through Him, one finds the eternal, unchanging dwelling. ||14||

In plain words

Your body is like a wonderful strong castle, beyond compare. And deep inside it, the One sits quietly.

There everything is set right and true, and there you find the home that never changes.

Your body is a fortress with the One seated quietly at its center.
The deeper layer

The body is an incomparable fortress (kaa-i-aa kot) with the One seated within, administering true justice. The nihchal (unchanging) dwelling is found there — the inner turn that runs through this whole group of shabads.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you treated your body as a place where something sacred lives?
