Beautiful Rooms Hidden Within

antar ghar bankay thaan suhaa-i-aa.
Deep within the inner self are glorious homes and beautiful places.
gurmukh virlai kinai thaan paa-i-aa.
But rare is that person who, as Gurmukh, finds these places.
it saath nibhai saalaahay sachay har sachaa man vasaa-idaa. ||15||
If one stays in these places, and praises the True Lord, the True Lord comes to dwell in the mind. ||15||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Deep inside you are lovely rooms and shining places. Rare is the person, turned toward the Guru, who finds them.

But whoever settles there and sings the praise of the True One — the One comes to live in their mind.

There are beautiful rooms inside you that you have not yet visited.
The deeper layer

The inner world is imagined as glorious homes and beautiful places (ghar bankay thaan suhaa-i-aa). They are rarely found, not because they are locked, but because we rarely look inward. Dwelling there and praising invites the One to dwell in us.

A Question to Sit With

When was the last time you went exploring inside your own heart?
