Verse 14 of 16

The Priceless Thing You Already Hold

kaa-i-aa vich vasat keemat nahee paa-ee.
Within the body is the object; its value cannot be estimated.
gurmukh aapay day vadi-aa-ee.
He Himself grants glorious greatness to the Gurmukh.
jis daa hat so-ee vath jaanai gurmukh day-ay na pachhotaa-idaa. ||14||
He alone knows this object, to whom this store belongs; the Gurmukh is blessed with it, and does not come to regret. ||14||

In plain words

Inside your body is a treasure so valuable no one could ever price it. The One grants greatness to the one turned toward the teaching.

Only the one it belongs to knows it — and, blessed with it, they never look back with sorrow.

The most priceless thing you own is already inside you.
The deeper layer

The object (vasat) within is beyond estimation. The Gurmukh, blessed with it, does not pachhotaa-idaa — does not come to regret. Knowing the treasure is reserved for the one to whom the store belongs; it is intimate, not theoretical.

A Question to Sit With

What do you already have that you sometimes forget is precious?
