ਆਪੇ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
aapay sachaa sabad milaa-ay.
The True Lord Himself unites us in the Word of His Shabad.
ਸਬਦੇ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ॥
sabday vichahu bharam chukaa-ay.
Within the Shabad, doubt is driven out.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੮॥੨੨॥
naanak naam milai vadi-aa-ee naamay hee sukh paa-idaa. ||16||8||22||
O Nanak, He blesses us with His Naam, and throgh the Naam, peace is found. ||16||8||22||

The One joins us to itself through the word. Inside that word, doubt is cleared away like fog burning off.
Nanak says: through the Naam comes honor, and through the Naam alone we find peace.
The word both joins you to the One and clears the fog that hid it.
The One unites through the Shabad, and within it bharam (doubt) is driven out. Naam brings peace. The word is both the meeting-place and the clearing of the fog that kept us from seeing.
