Truth Planted Within

baajh guroo hai moh gubaaraa.
Without the Guru, there is only the darkness of attachment.
fir fir dubai vaaro vaaraa.
Over and over, time and time again, they are drowned.
satgur bhaytay sach drirh-aa-ay sach naam man bhaa-i-aa. ||8||
Meeting the True Guru, Truth is implanted within, and the True Name becomes pleasing to the mind. ||8||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Without the Guru, there is only the darkness of clinging, and people sink again and again, time after time.

Meeting the True Guru, Truth is planted inside, and the True Name grows sweet to the heart.

Truth planted within grows, in time, into sweetness.
The deeper layer

Without the Guru there is the darkness of moh (attachment); with the Guru, sach is implanted (drirhaa-ay) within and the True Name becomes sweet to the mind. Truth is planted like a seed, then grows into sweetness.

A Question to Sit With

What true thing was planted in you long ago that has grown sweet over time?
