Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Night and day, repeat the Naam. All your hopes and wishes will be filled.

Nanak says: repeat the Naam of the One who ends fear, and the night of your life passes in gentle, easy peace.

Keeping the Name close lets even the long nights pass in peace.
The deeper layer

bhav khandan is the One who ends fear. rain vihaanee — the night of life passes in sahaj, intuitive peace and poise. Keeping the Name (an-din naam japahu) is framed warmly as what lets the hard hours pass gently.

A Question to Sit With

What helps a hard night pass more gently for you?
