Strength From the Name

har kaa naam kot lakh baahaa.
One who has the Name of the Lord has hundreds of thousands and millions of arms.
har jas keertan sang Dhan taahaa.
The wealth of the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises is with him.
gi-aan kharhag kar kirpaa deenaa doot maaray kar Dhaa-ee hay. ||9||
In His Mercy, God has blessed me with the sword of spiritual wisdom; I have attacked and killed the demons. ||9||

In plain words

Whoever carries the Name is strong beyond counting — as if a thousand arms were helping.

Singing the One's praise is the wealth they carry with them. In grace, the One gave me the sword of understanding, and I rushed at the troubles inside me and struck them down.

The sword of understanding strikes down the troubles inside you.
The deeper layer

kot lakh baahaa — the Name gives strength as if of countless arms. har jas keertan — singing the One's praise — is the wealth that goes along. The gyaan kharhag (sword of wisdom) is turned inward: it strikes down one's own doot, the inner troubles and pulls.

A Question to Sit With

What tangle inside you could a little clear understanding cut through?
