Verse 13 of 15

Robed in Honor

gurmukh so-ay je har jee-o bhaa-i-aa.
He alone is Gurmukh, who is pleasing to the Dear Lord.
tis ka-un mitaavai je parabh pehraa-i-aa.
Who can destroy anyone who is robed in honor by the Lord?
sadaa anand karay aanandee jis sirpaa-o pa-i-aa gal khaasaa hay. ||13||
The blissful one is forever in bliss; he is dressed in robes of honor. ||13||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The one who faces the Guru is the one who pleases the One.

And who could ever undo what the One has dressed in honor? That one lives in bliss, wrapped in a robe of honor, on and on.

What the One dresses in honor, nothing can undo.
The deeper layer

sirpaa-o (siropa, the robe of honor) is grace nothing can strip away. sadaa anand karay aanandee — the blissful one lives forever in bliss. After the long reckoning with parting comes the security grace gives.

A Question to Sit With

What makes you feel honored, in a way that lasts?
