Revealed to the Open Heart

agam agochar keemat nahee paa-ee.
He is inaccessible and unfathomable; His value cannot be estimated.
taa milee-ai jaa la-ay milaa-ee.
We meet Him, only when He causes us to meet.
gurmukh pargat bha-i-aa tin jan ka-o jin Dhur mastak laykh likhaa-idaa. ||15||
The Lord is revealed to those humble Gurmukhs, who have such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon their foreheads. ||15||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is beyond reach and beyond knowing. No one can find out the One's worth.

We meet the One only when the One brings us together.

The One shines out to those who turn to the Guru, whose foreheads have carried that destiny from the start.

We meet the One when the One brings us near.
The deeper layer

Agam agochar keemat nahee paa-ee — beyond reach, beyond the senses, beyond price. Taa milee-ai jaa la-ay milaa-ee — the meeting happens when the One draws you into it. To the gurmukh the One is revealed, by Dhur mastak laykh, a destiny written from the very beginning.

A Question to Sit With

Has something ever become clear at exactly the right moment, as if it was waiting for you?
