Drawn Into Service

gur kee sayv na jaanai ko-ee.
No one knows how to serve the Guru.
gur paarbarahm agochar so-ee.
The Guru is the unfathomable, Supreme Lord God.
jis no laa-ay la-ay so sayvak jis vadbhaag mathaa-inaa. ||9||
He alone is the Guru's servant, whom the Guru Himself links to His service, and upon whose forehead such blessed destiny is inscribed. ||9||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

No one knows how to serve the Guru.

The Guru is the Highest One, deeper than any mind can reach.

Whoever the Guru draws in becomes the Guru's servant — the one with good fortune written on the forehead.

You come to serve when the Guru draws you in; it is a gift of grace.
The deeper layer

No one knows by themselves how to serve the Guru; the Guru is agochar, beyond the senses. One becomes a servant when the Guru draws them in, with good fortune written on the forehead. Service is a gift of grace.

A Question to Sit With

What did you fall into naturally, as if it were meant for you?
