The True Guru is the Supreme Lord God, the Incomparable One; meditating in remembrance on Him, the mind is cooled and soothed. ||10||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Even the Vedas do not know the Guru's glory.
They tell only the tiny bit they have heard.
The True Guru is the Highest One, beyond compare — remembering the Guru, my mind grows cool and calm.
Remembering the Guru cools a hot, restless mind.
Even the Vedas do not grasp the Guru's greatness; they tell only a tiny bit of what they have heard. The True Guru is aprampar, beyond compare. Remembering the Guru, the mind becomes seetal — cool and soothed. The old books are honoured, and the mystery is still larger than they can hold.
