O Lord, with my tongue I sing Your Glorious Praises.

The sins which I have committed are erased.

Meditating, meditating in remembrance on my Lord and Master, my mind lives; I am rid of the five oppressive demons. ||4||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
With my tongue I sing what is good about You.
The wrong things I have done are wiped away.
Remembering, remembering the One, my mind comes fully alive, and the five inner troublemakers, anger, greed, and the rest, stop crowding me in.
Remembering the One is like fresh air rushing into a stuffy room.
The 'panch doot' (five inner troublemakers) are the classic five: anger, greed, attachment, pride, and craving. Singing the praise wipes away the wrongs done, and remembering the One again and again brings the mind to life.
A Question to Sit With
What helps your own mind feel awake instead of crowded?
