Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Not even the hottest, harshest wind can touch the one

who stays awake and remembering, through the day and through the night.

That heart delights in the One and stays free of the pull of grabbing at the world.

A heart that stays warm inside is not scorched by the world's hot winds.
The deeper layer

'Taatee vaa-o na laagai' (no hot wind touches) is a recurring landmark of shelter across the Guru Granth Sahib: the remembering heart is untouched by the scorching winds of trouble.

A Question to Sit With

What keeps you steady when things around you get harsh?
