ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੨ ॥
salok mehlaa 2.
Shalok, Second Mehl:
ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਣੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
aapay jaanai karay aap aapay aanai raas.
He Himself knows, He Himself acts, and He Himself does it right.
ਤਿਸੈ ਅਗੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਖਲਿਇ ਕੀਚੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
tisai agai naankaa khali-ay keechai ardaas. ||1||
So stand before Him, O Nanak, and offer your prayers. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One knows, the One acts, and the One sets everything right.
Nothing is outside that knowing and that care.
Nanak says: so stand before the One and offer your heart in prayer.
The One who knows and acts also sets things right; you can simply stand and pray.
A short shalok of the Second Mehl (Guru Angad, the only Second Mehl verse in this Vaar). The One knows, acts and 'does it right', so the fitting response is trust: standing openly in prayer.
A Question to Sit With
What does it feel like to hand a worry over instead of carrying it alone?
