O Nanak, gather in the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within your mind. ||20||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Let the small worries go, and make the One your single, faithful friend.

Heart and body grow bright, and old mistakes burn away in that friendship.

The endless circling stops, sorrow loosens its hold, and the True Name becomes your steady support. Nanak says: gather the treasure of the Naam in your heart.

Make the One your closest friend, and the rest of the noise settles down.
The deeper layer

The twentieth Pauree (||20||). A warm, direct invitation to friendship with the One. In the warmth of that friendship, old mistakes burn away. The True Name is the support that ends both the circling and the sorrow of attachment.

A Question to Sit With

What is it like to have a friend you can fully trust with everything?
