Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I am in love with You, and I have seen that every other love was only pretend.

Even fine clothes and good food feel empty to me until I see the One I love.

Once you know lasting love, the pretend kind loses its shine.
The deeper layer

Once you have tasted love for the One, the pretend versions lose their pull. Other love is 'false' here in the plain sense: it does not last.

A Question to Sit With

What feels empty when the people you love are not around?
