They alone remain intact, who meet with the True Guru. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have watched the riverbank crumble and wash away in the rushing water.

The ones who stay standing are those who have met the Guru.

Roots in the Guru keep you standing when the current is strong.
The deeper layer

The washed-away bank pictures how quickly outer things collapse; those rooted in the Guru stay steady through the flood. Impermanence made vivid, then answered with steadiness.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you stay steady when things around you change fast?
