My soul is fascinated and enticed by You; when will I see You, O my Love? ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

If You are my friend, then do not slip away from me, not even for an instant.

My whole heart is pulled toward You. When will I see You, my Love?

The best friend is the one who stays close, moment after moment.
The deeper layer

A Dakhanay shalok. The soul asks for constant nearness — not a friend who visits, but a friend who never leaves.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you wish you never had to say goodbye to?
