Dakhanay, Fifth Mehl:
ਜਾ ਮੂੰ ਆਵਹਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਤੂ ਤਾ ਹਭੇ ਸੁਖ ਲਹਾਉ ॥

When You come into my consciousness, then I obtain all peace and comfort.

naanak man hee manjh rangvaalaa piree tahijaa naa-o. ||1||
Nanak: with Your Name within my mind, O my Husband Lord, I am filled with delight. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The moment You enter my awareness, a deep calm settles over me.

Nanak says, with Your Naam held in my mind, I am filled with delight.

Holding what you love in mind brings a quiet, steady joy.
The deeper layer

A Dakhanay shalok. Simran — keeping the Name in mind — is here pure delight, never a chore. Presence in the mind brings peace to the whole being.

A Question to Sit With

What thought, held in your mind, makes you feel calm?
