The face of my friend, the Lord, is incomparably beautiful; I would watch Him, twenty-four hours a day.

sut-rhee so saho dith tai supnay ha-o khannee-ai. ||2||
In sleep, I saw my Husband Lord; I am a sacrifice to that dream. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My Friend's face is so lovely I could gaze at it all day and all night.

Even in a dream I saw the One I love — and I would give anything for that dream.

When you love someone, even a glimpse in a dream is precious.
The deeper layer

A Dakhanay shalok, all sweetness. The Beloved is so dear that even a dream-glimpse is treasured. Love that fills the whole day and night.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what would you happily 'watch all day'?
