Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Other days are of no use to me.
Dear One, give me the days when I sing Your praise.
A day spent on what is real is a day that stays with you.
Other days pass empty. Dear One, give me the days spent singing Your praise.
This is the rahao, the pause at the center of the shabad. Instead of dreading the passing of days, the heart asks for the days spent singing the One's praise.
A Question to Sit With
What would make a day feel well-spent to you?
