ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਖੋਜੀ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਏ ॥
ih biDh khojee baho parkaaraa bin santan nahee paa-ay.
In this way, I have examined lots of methods, but without the Saints, it is not found.
ਤੁਮ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਵਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥ ਮਾਗਨ ਕਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਆਏ ॥੩॥
tum daataar vaday parabh samrath maagan ka-o daan aa-ay. ||3||
You are the Great Giver, the great and almighty God; I have come to beg a gift from You. ||3||

I tried this method and that, so many ways - without the saints I could not find it.
You are the great Giver, strong and generous; so I have come simply to ask for the gift.
When you have tried everything, the saints and simple asking still work.
After many methods, it is found through the saints, the Guru's people; the seeker comes to the great Giver simply to ask.
