In plain words

I found it, I found the jewel! I found the whole, perfect One.

No money can buy something this priceless. In kindness, the Guru gave it to me.

The most precious things cannot be bought, only received.
The deeper layer

Found! The jewel is found, and the jewel is the whole, perfect One.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center the whole song keeps coming back to. Maanak paa-i-o ray paa-i-o: I found the jewel, oh, I found it! The jewel is the One, whole and complete.

The One is amol, beyond price. Mol amol na paa-i-aa jaa-ee: no one can buy it. Think of a grandmother's love. No store sells it, and no money could pay for it. It can only be given.

So it was given. Kar kirpaa guroo divaa-i-aa: in kindness, the Guru handed it over. This jewel is not earned. It comes as a gift of grace.

A Question to Sit With

What is something valuable in your life that came to you as a gift?
