The Supreme Lord God is imperceptible and unfathomable; meeting the Holy Saint, I speak the Unspoken Speech.

The unstruck sound current of the Shabad vibrates and resounds in the Tenth Gate; the Ambrosial Naam trickles down there. ||2||

In plain words

The One is beyond what eyes can see or words can hold. Yet meeting a holy person, I found myself speaking of the One who cannot be spoken.

A music with no drum and no player began to sound in the tenth gate inside me. There the sweet Naam trickled down like nectar.

When the mind grows quiet, a hidden sweetness can be heard.
The deeper layer

The One is beyond sight. Yet meeting a holy person, the unspoken comes into words.

Adisat agochar means unseen and beyond reach. Eyes cannot see the One, and words cannot hold the One. Yet mil saadhoo akath kathaa-i-aa: meeting a saadhoo, a holy and wise person, he began to speak what cannot be spoken.

Then comes a beautiful picture. Anhad sabad means the "unstruck" sound, a music with no drum and no player. Dasam du-aar means the "tenth door," a quiet place deep inside. These are words for inner stillness. When the mind grows quiet, music and sweetness rise inside. Amrit naam chu-aa-i-aa: the sweet Name drips down like nectar.

Think of a noisy room going silent. Suddenly you can hear the soft song that was playing the whole time.
