Coming and Going in Ease

Intuitively I come, and intuively I go; my mind intuitively plays.

Says Nanak, when the Guru drives out doubt, then the soul-bride enters the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. ||4||3||12||

In plain words

Now I come with ease and go with ease; my mind plays freely, at home in the flow of life.

Nanak says, when the Guru cleared away my doubt, I stepped into the One's own home, and found I had been welcome all along.

When doubt clears, you find you were welcome all along.
The deeper layer

Life now flows with ease, because the Guru has taken doubt away.

Sahjay aavaa sahjay jaavaa: I come with ease, I go with ease. Sahaj means natural ease, a calm you do not have to force. Even the mind plays with ease. Think of riding a bike once you have really learned. You stop worrying and just ride.

Bharam gur kho-i-aa: the Guru cleared away bharam, doubt and confusion. Then har mahlee mahal paa-i-aa: the soul stepped into the One's own home.

And there is a quiet surprise. The soul finds it had been welcome there all along.

A Question to Sit With

When has a worry cleared and left you feeling at home?
