Be gentle with me, bright One,
Nanak says, let me spend my days in loving service.
A life of loving service is a good thing to ask for.
A closing prayer: be kind to me, and let me serve.
Da-i-aa mohi keejai dayvaa — please be kind to me, bright One. Dayvaa means the shining, divine One. Naanak laago sayvaa — join Nanak to Your sayvaa, loving service.
Think of helping in the langar, the community kitchen, handing out food with a smile. That kind of glad service is what the verse asks for.
A Question to Sit With
How could you spend a little of today in service?
