Love the Lord, and commit your mind and body to Him; forget everything else. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O my mind, keep the Naam settled in your heart.

Love the One with your mind and your body, and let everything else fall away.

Give your whole self to loving the One, and worries fall away.
The deeper layer

Hold the Name in your heart, and love the One with all of you.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Naam hirdai dhaar means keep the Name settled inside. Then give your whole self, man tan, mind and body, to loving the One. Avar sagal visaar means let everything else fall away, even the smaller worries.

Think of hugging someone you love after a long trip. For that moment, nothing else matters. That is the kind of love the verse is describing.

A Question to Sit With

What worry would shrink if you gave your heart to something bigger?
