ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਲੇ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਗੋਲੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਮੀਰਾ ॥
an-din laalay chaakree golay sir meeraa.
Night and day, the slave works for his overlord.
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਵੇਚਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰਾ ॥
gur bachnee man vaychi-aa sabad man Dheeraa.
I have sold my mind for the Word of the Guru's Shabad; my mind is comforted and consoled by the Shabad.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਕਾਟੈ ਮਨ ਪੀਰਾ ॥੨॥
gur pooray saabaas hai kaatai man peeraa. ||2||
The Perfect Guru is honored and celebrated; He has taken away the pains of my mind. ||2||

With all my heart, day and night, I give myself to the One I love.
I have handed my whole mind over to the Guru's word, and in return my mind is soothed and steadied. The perfect Guru is a wonder: the Guru gently lifts my pain away.
Give your heart to the Guru's word and it soothes what aches.
Gur bachnee man vechiaa, selling the mind for the Guru's word, means wholehearted giving; sabad man dheeraa, the word steadies. Gur poore saabaas celebrates the Guru who removes man peeraa, the heart's pain. The servant image is loving devotion.
